Merry (almost) Christmas! One of the best parts about a holiday party at a new friend's house is getting the tour. Don't you love the unique way you get to know someone when you see them in their setting? So, we thought it would be fun if we brought you into one of our homes for a little Christmas tour.
Welcome to Laura Irion's house!
That's Dyson, lounging in front of the tree. He is a fantastic model and styling prop for these photoshoots. Welcome to our family room, where we spend 99% of our time. This year, I decided to get a real tree and flock it (you can read about the blood and tears behind that process on my personal blog). In the end, it was all worth it, as the room feels like a winter wonderland with this beauty at the helm.
The dining area is just next door, open to the family room.
My office is its usual "festive mess" of Christmas wrap and card piles...
Our entry is torn apart and under construction, but I couldn't help putting up a garland along the staircase. I'm just pretending our new banister is already behind it. You can pretend you don't see our post-baby gate holes in the wall and my half-finished primer job.
Outside, I trimmed down some of our red-twig dogwoods and put the branches in our front planters. These were built by my husband during our One Room Challenge Exterior Makeover, and I love filling them seasonally.
The matching porch planters got some greens from Trader Joe's, and two Restoration Hardware berry wreaths adorn the front doors.
We were thrilled when the first snow of the season arrived shortly after our decorations were up! Now that this is our backyard view, it officially feels like Christmas.
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to you and yours!
