Redcliffe House

No.01Design Approach

This beautiful St. Charles home’s entire main floor was reconfigured and remodeled. Before, the kitchen was closed off from view and the family room had an awkward sunken floor. We raised the floor, added an ached doorway between the two rooms that flooded them both with natural light, and enclosed a multi-purpose mudroom & office nearby for a quiet workspace and cozy entry. The result is both functional and beautiful.

"The original kitchen was landlocked between a back door and a narrow dining room entry. Removing a closet and opening up a wall with a dramatic arched entryway made the space feel expansive. We removed an outdated peninsula to incorporate a large island, and created a much-needed focal point for the kitchen with an ached range hood."
