Welcome back and um, I don’t know how this happened, but it’s Week 4 already!! Commence panic. For those of you who are just tuning in, we’re now in the home stretch of a 6-week room makeover known as the One Room Challenge.
The undertaking is a tween girl’s bedroom and we’ve completed construction in the form of all new trim, moulding, ceiling paint, chandelier, new doors, and gorgeous wallpaper. And we’re in the process of decorating the space with a 4-poster twin bed, refinished vintage dresser, and loads of girly accessories.
The reason for the panic is that there are only two weeks until the reveal…which really means we have one week to finish (so that we can have it photographed and ready to publish by Nov 8th). Yikes! We have a lot to do.
This week, we’ve been focusing on styling the closet. No other furniture is in the room yet, mind you, but pshhh….priorities. It is the cutest little nook OF ALL TIME so as soon as it was complete we had to bling it out with all the pretty right away. The doors weren’t even painted or installed yet, but meh, tiny details.
Isn’t it just SO darling??! Our little girl is a total squirrel…she likes to hide away and she loves to hide treasures, so this little reading nook was her #1 request (on a list of about 1,000 requests, for the record) for her room. Maybe not the most practical because she lost all hanging space for dresses, BUT I’m happy to share space in my closet for a few years until she grows out of this.
Here is a look at the closet progression…
Well, wish us luck! This week we will have to finish moving in all the furniture, hang artwork, and style everything! We are excited to show you next week a sneak peak at all the details as we head into the final reveal on Nov. 8th. (You can see that we couldn’t stop at the closet and had to start practicing how we’re going to style the bookcase- still no bed in here, but whatevs!) We’ll see you next time, and for now don’t forget to see how the other guest participants are holding up, over at the One Room Challenge.
