WHO WE ARE
Laura Design Company is the Interior Design studio of Laura Irion and Laura Peacock, specializing in full service design and consulting for new construction, remodeling, and furnishing & decor projects in the North & West suburbs of Chicago.
Their full range of services includes architectural drawing review, hard finish selection and space planning, as well as design, installation and styling of furniture and decor. From consulting on the architectural floor plans and bid documents, to placing the final layer of accessories in a room, their expertise is in helping busy clients achieve their vision with confidence on a project from start to finish.
Their work was recently recognized by House Beautiful Magazine as a Top 10 Design in the One Room Challenge competition, and will be featured in an upcoming issue of the The Bulletin, the bi-annual magazine of iconic American fabric house, F. Schumacher & Co.
Laura and Laura are longtime friends whose shared passion for interiors led them to their first project together in the winter of 2014. They quickly realized that their unique backgrounds and complimentary talents made them better designers together than they are apart, and Laura Design Co. was founded in the Spring of 2015.
Laura Irion is co-owner, Principal Designer, and one half of the Lauras at Laura Design Company. Her years of experience in the commercial interiors and retail home furnishings industries led her to found the design blog, Avery Street, where her personal blog and remodeling projects have been featured by House Beautiful and Popular Mechanics Magazines, POPSUGAR Home, My Domaine, Apartment Therapy, and Mashable, among others. Her Instagram styling and photography has also been featured by several prominent brands and publications including Real Simple Magazine, Pottery Barn, IKEA, Design*Sponge, and The Every Girl. Laura holds a B.S. in Fashion Merchandising.
Laura Peacock is co-owner, Principal Designer, and the other half of the Lauras at Laura Design Company. After receiving her B.S. in Interior Design, she began her career with Whitney Architects, eventually becoming a Project Manager and CAD Specialist for a structural steel company. During these years, she had the opportunity to space-plan and design for commercial interior projects, including a 3,400 sq. ft. new construction office building. From excavation, concrete, and plumbing to interior finish selection and furniture layout, this project laid the groundwork for her love of the entire construction and design process. Her experience is grounded in the technical side of design and space planning, but she loves applying the artistic elements of color, shape, and balance to her designs as well.
