Sometimes I think I should write posts called Life According to my iPhone. There are so many pretty pictures on the camera roll that never see the (internet) light of day. (Of course on the other hand there are also kid selfies taken while perched atop of laundry piles in the kitchen...so it's probably best the iPhone keep its secrets).
Still, we thought a little getting-to-know you post would be fun every once in a while. Here are 5 things we've been loving lately, online and in real life.
1. PATTERN OBSESSION
I happened upon this wallpaper & fabric while browsing Schumacher the other day, and oh. my. goodness. Obsessed.
2. FOUND RECIPE: OPEN FACED EGG & ARUGULA SANDWICH
Come grocery day this week, the only things left in my fridge were a carton of eggs and a waning container of arugula. Google to the rescue. I put those ingredients into a search and pure magic came back. This open faced sandwich recipe floored me- beyond yummy! (Yes, those are ever-present crumbs in the cracks of my farmhouse table. #keepinitreal
3. LP's 30/40/60 TRIP TO SEATTLE
How cute is this...Laura Peacock is turning 40 this year, her little sister is turning 30, and her mom is turning 60. So the three of them decided to celebrate with a long girls' weekend in Seattle. My favorite thing when LP travels is that I know, without fail, she will text me photos of light fixtures and pastry counters.
4. STOP-YOU-IN-YOUR-TRACKS KITCHEN
This photo of a kitchen-in-progress from Amber Lewis' Instagram left us both pining...
5. END OF SUMMER FAMILY PICTURES
It's fun to see the faces behind the brand, isn't it? And as every small business owner knows, it's not just the people whose names are on the shingle making it all happen. Our families are our design assistants, marketing departments, IT support, moral support...and on and on. It was a precious summer with kids home from school and around the houses more. We both took needed vacations and enjoyed some really good family time. And now we're ready to settle into a fall routine and dive back in to full time work!
IN OUR PRAYERS
And finally, we just want to say that our hearts and prayers are with all of the victims in Florida today as hurricane Irma hits landfall. I had the privilege of visiting my aunt's winter home in Ft. Meyers this past January, and I cannot imagine the heartache of these beautiful communities. We know how special of a place home is, and we're praying God's mercy, protection, and lovingkindness will be abundant over all of you right now. xo- LI
