After 6 months of prep, planning, renovating, and waiting, our Greencourt project family room is finally ready for its reveal! In case you missed where we started, you can take a look back at the before-tour here. This was the family room just after Christmas:
That was then...let's take a look at it now!
It's hard to believe this is the same house, isn't it? We had to start with the shell of the room before we could work on furnishings. The built-ins and paint were very dark and heavy, and the carpet, although nice, was inlaid in the floor at awkward angles. We suggested lightening up the walls and painting the built-ins, trim, and doors throughout the home a crisp white. The carpet was taken up, and the wood flooring from the adjoining entry was continued into this room. All of the wood floors were refinished and went from a honey wood color to a rich brown. The staircase and railing were refinished as well, with stain to match the new floors and fresh white trim and spindles. All of this created a backdrop for the beautiful furniture and made the home feel brand new.
We love all the little details in this room, from the tassels on the pillows to the way the new modern hardware accents the built-ins, to the herringbone texture on the blue chair fabric. We're so happy with how it came together! Here's one last side-by-side look at the before & after:
We can't thank our client enough for trusting us with this room. We had the BEST time working with you, and we hope you love it for years to come!
