Who We Are
Laura Irion is co-owner, Principal Designer, and one half of the Lauras at Laura Design Company. After receiving her B.S. in Fashion Merchandising, an early career in commercial interiors led to a position as a merchandising manager for Restoration Hardware stores in California. It was during her time at RH that her love for both styling and residential interiors was cemented. In 2014 she founded the design blog, Avery Street. Her blog and personal remodeling projects have been featured by House Beautiful and Popular Mechanics Magazines, POPSUGAR Home, My Domaine, Apartment Therapy, and Mashable, among others. Her Instagram styling and photography has been featured by several prominent brands and publications including Real Simple Magazine, Pottery Barn, IKEA, Design*Sponge, and The Every Girl. She now resides in the Chicago suburbs with her husband, three kids, and perpetual puppy, Dyson.
Laura Peacock is co-owner, Principal Designer, and one half of the Lauras at Laura Design Company. After receiving her B.S. in Interior Design, she began her career with OWP&P Architects and Whitney Architects, eventually becoming a Project Manager and CAD Drawing Specialist for a structural steel company. During these years, she had expanding opportunities to space-plan and design for commercial interior projects, including a 3,400 sq. ft. new construction office. From excavation, concrete, and plumbing to interior finish selection and furniture layout, this project laid the groundwork for her love of the entire construction and design process. Her experience is grounded in the technical side of design and space planning, but she loves applying the artistic elements of color, shape, and balance to the design process as well. She resides in the Chicago suburbs with her husband, three kids, and perpetual puppy, Welker.

Tour Our Homes
As with most people, our homes are a work in progress. Some rooms are done; some feel like they'll never be done. The houses we live in, respectively built in the 90's and the 50's, have been a source of joy, inspiration, experience, frustration, and creative fulfillment as we are both lovingly updating and renovating, transforming them over time. We'll be keeping the Laura Design Company Blog updated with progress as projects unfold. For now, please come in and have a look around!
